Birch Tar Crude

Description

A viscous aromatic product heavily used within the masculine fragrance industry, Birch Tar Crude is a brownish yellow liquid that remains popular among perfumers almost everywhere. The tar’s odor is extremely powerful and phenolic, with a leather-like quality and sweet oily undertones. Soluble in most perfumes, birch tar is commonly used alongside other phenol ingredients such as patchouli, vetiver, and thyme. This masculine odor can impart a “rough,” leathery quality to fragrance products such as aftershaves, body lotions, and colognes.
