Lovage Root Oil

Description

Sometimes simplified to “Lovage Oil,” Lovage Root Oil is steam-distilled from the roots of the Levisticum Officinale herb. Primarily grown and produced in Western Europe, this oil has an incredibly strong aromatic profile, historically cultivated by medieval monks as a component of traditional medicine. Lovage root oil has a rich, spicy, and fresh odor, with warm and intensely sweet undertones. The oil’s strength, combined with its root-like nuances, makes it somewhat comparable to licorice, celery, or angelica root. In flavor, lovage root oil imparts a warm and spicy top note, which remains a very popular addition to beers, coffee, coca drinks, and other beverages. Lovage root is also used to add a warm and rich body to fruit flavorings, especially those in which sweet or spicy ingredients play a key role in the overall composition.
